Where the numbers come from

Production and export figures are from the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service PSD database (Production, Supply and Distribution), in 60 kg bags by market year. USDA counts each country on its own marketing year, so 2026/27 does not cover the same twelve months everywhere, and the most recent year is a forecast that USDA revises. Area harvested and production in tonnes come from FAOSTAT (FAO crops and livestock products).

Harvest months come from importers' published seasonality calendars, reconciled where they disagree. Country and region coordinates are from Wikidata. Coastlines and borders are Natural Earth. The globe shows where coffee is grown and how much; it does not show trade between countries.
