Peru

Peru's coffee is grown by smallholders on the eastern slopes of the Andes, from Cajamarca and Amazonas in the north through Junín to Cusco and Puno in the south. It is the world's largest exporter of organic arabica, with strong cooperative and fair-trade networks that grew from the 1990s. The harvest runs from about May to September.

Flavour tendencies

Peruvian washed coffees have a reputation as mild, clean and sweet blend components, with more vivid acidity and fruit appearing in high northern and southern microlots.
