KP423
Also KP 423, Kent KP423
KP423 is a Kent-type selection made at Lyamungu in the 1930s and one of Tanzania's two traditional commercial arabicas. TaCRI classes it as highly susceptible to coffee berry disease and leaf rust, with 1 to 1.5 tonnes per hectare under good management. It gave rise to the KP423-1 to KP423-3 improved lines released from 2004.
