SL28

Also SL-28, Scott Laboratories 28

SL28 is one of the single-tree selections made at the Scott Agricultural Laboratories near Nairobi in the 1930s and is the backbone of Kenya's reputation for bright, intense cups. It is tall and drought-tolerant but has no useful resistance to leaf rust or coffee berry disease, so Kenyan growers protect it chemically or replace it with Ruiru 11 and Batian. Genetic group is left open here because the primary sources do not state it.
