Excelsa (Coffea dewevrei / C. liberica var. dewevrei)
Also Coffea excelsa, Coffea liberica var. dewevrei, Kisansa coffee, Shari coffee
Excelsa is the central and east African member of the Liberica group, long filed as Coffea liberica var. dewevrei and now proposed as its own species, C. dewevrei, on genomic evidence. It is a large tree with small fruit relative to Liberica proper, grown in Uganda, South Sudan, Guinea, India and Vietnam, and attracting attention because it crops under higher temperatures and longer dry spells than robusta. Field observations report low leaf-rust incidence and little or no coffee berry disease; its seeds are smaller than Liberica's.
