Cenicafé 1

Cenicafé 1 was released in December 2016 as a Caturra-stature composite of eight progenies adapted to the whole Colombian coffee zone. Its selling point over Castillo is bean size: in Cenicafé's trials 84 to 85 percent of its coffee graded supremo. It resists both leaf rust and coffee berry disease, although Cenicafé notes that slow, visible rust colonisation can occur on some component lines without economic damage.
