Sidra
Sidra is a variety name used in Ecuador and Colombia for a tall, Ethiopian-type tree that has done well in competitions. DNA fingerprinting of plants sold as Sidra on an Ecuadorian farm placed the confirmed Sidra morphotypes within the Core Ethiopia genetic group, while one plant sold under the name turned out to be the Kenyan composite Batian, illustrating how unreliable the name is as a guarantee of identity.
