Ugandan robusta elite clones (KW/KR series)
Also KW13, KW14, KW15, KW16
Uganda's robusta production relies on six elite clones (KW13, KW14, KW15, KW16, KW18, KW19) selected for resistance to coffee wilt disease and high yield. Uganda is a centre of wild canephora diversity; its traditional spreading 'Nganda' type is thought to come from Ugandan forest while the upright 'Erecta' type was introduced from the Congo basin, and genetic studies show the two intermixed.
