Conilon (Coffea canephora, Congolese SG1 group)

Also Kouillou, Kouilou, Conillon

Conilon is the Brazilian canephora population grown in Espírito Santo and neighbouring states, descended from Kouillou-type introductions and now genetically distinct from robusta as subgroup SG1 of the Congolese group. Conilon trees are shorter and more branched than robusta with intermediate characteristics suggesting past hybridisation between Congolese and Guinean stock. Incaper's clonal cultivars, led by 'Vitória Incaper 8142', made Brazil the second robusta-conilon producer.
