Gaggia

Gaggia traces itself to Achille Gaggia's 1938 patent for a pressure brewing group that produced the first espresso with crema, and to the lever-piston machines he built in Milan after the Second World War. The brand passed to Saeco in 1999 and to Philips with Saeco in 2009; since 2017 Evoca Group has held the professional licence and relaunched the Gaggia Milano commercial line. For home users the stainless Gaggia Classic, introduced in 1991, remains one of the longest-running entry-level semi-automatic machines.
