Synesso
Synesso was started in Seattle in 2004 by engineer Mark Barnett to build a temperature-stable, long-lived commercial espresso machine as an American alternative to the Italian makers. Its independently heated groups and later the MVP pressure-profiling line made it a fixture of early third-wave cafés. The Middleby Corporation acquired the company in December 2019 and it now sits in Middleby's coffee group with Marco and Concordia.
