Melitta

Melitta began in 1908 when Dresden housewife Melitta Bentz pierced a brass pot and lined it with blotting paper, patenting the first paper coffee filter. The family-owned group, now in its fourth generation with about 5,500 employees and over two billion euros in sales, makes filter papers, drip brewers, home super-automatics and, through Melitta Professional, commercial machines such as the Cafina XT series. It also owns coffee, household and packaging brands.
