Kalita
Kalita, incorporated in July 1959 and headquartered in Yokohama, makes filter papers, drippers, grinders and commercial coffee machines; its flat-bottomed Wave dripper with three small holes is the main alternative to the Hario V60 in pour-over cafés. The Tsubame line is hand-made in the metalworking town of Tsubame in Niigata and the Hasami line in porcelain from Nagasaki. The company had about 70 employees in 2021 and exhibits each year at the SCAJ show.
