3M
3M, the Minnesota conglomerate founded in 1902, entered foodservice water treatment through its 2005 acquisition of Cuno and sells the ScaleGard and High Flow filter lines used ahead of espresso machines and brewers. The ScaleGard Blend cartridges blend softened and unsoftened water to a set hardness for coffee equipment. Water filtration is a small part of a company better known for adhesives, abrasives and consumer products.
